CHILDREN & YOUTH POLICIES
Children are welcome to attend performances at the Center for the Performing Arts. The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center does not censor performances nor make any guarantees of show content. We encourage parents to use their discretion when deciding if a show is appropriate for their child. Children under the age of three and younger do not require a ticket if the child will be lap-sitting with a guardian for the entire duration of the performance. Children four to eighteen do require a ticket to attend. We respectfully request that your child exhibit appropriate audience etiquette, including a reasonable level of stillness and quiet, so as not to disturb the enjoyment of other guests.
The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center offers discounted tickets to youth 18 years of age and under. Youth tickets are only $12 for all performances of the Center for the Performing Arts Seasons and are available at the Fairfield Arts and Convention Center Ticket Office. Youth tickets are not available online. All tickets are subject to Facility Restoration Fee of $2 retained by the Center for general maintenance and upkeep of its venues.

In the event that a patron personally turns in a ticket and requests that it be released or given away, the Box Office will make a reasonable effort to accommodate this request. However, it is important to note that no refunds, exchanges, or compensation will be provided, even if the returned tickets are resold. There is no compensation if a patron misses a performance or cannot attend a future performance they have already purchased tickets for.

SERVICE ANIMALS
Service animals are generally permitted in any area open to the general public at The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center.
The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center may exclude the use of service animals from certain locations due to health or safety reasons or where the animal’s presence would fundamentally alter the nature of The Center’s service, program or activity. Some examples of areas where service animals may be excluded: food preparation areas, backstage access or areas unsafe for the service animal or patron.
Emotional Support Animals (ESA) are not permitted. An ESA provides comfort or emotional support through its presence, but does not perform specific tasks to mitigate a person’s disability. Under federal law, ESAs are not considered service animals and therefore are not permitted.
For the best seating accommodations, please contact the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center Box Office at 641‑472‑2787.
CLARIFYING ANIMAL STATUS
In determining whether an animal qualifies as a service animal, Center employees cannot inquire about the nature of the individual’s disability or medical history. However, when it is not obvious or apparent what service, task, or work the service animal performs, Center employees may ask these two questions:
- Is the animal required because of a disability?
- What work or task has the animal been trained to perform?
Service animals must always be leashed or contained (through voice, signals, or other effective controls) while on The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center property. A service animal does not need to be on a leash, harness, or tether if such restraint interferes with the work or task the service animal has been trained to perform.
A service animal may be removed from The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center property if: The service animal is out of control, and the animal’s handler does not take effective action to control it (e.g., aggressive or disruptive behavior or escaping containment/oversight).
The service animal’s handler will be liable for any damage or harm of any kind caused by the service animal.
If the service animal vomits, urinates, or defecates on The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center property, it is the responsibility of the service animal’s owner and/or handler to dispose of the waste in a safe and sanitary manner and to clean the area completely.
The service animal’s owner must comply with state and local licensing, registration, and vaccination requirements.
It violates Iowa law for a person to intentionally misrepresent an animal as a service animal or a service animal-in-training (see § 216C.11).
