STEP INTO YOUR STORY: IMMERSIVE WRITING TECHNIQUES

WHO – Ages 14 and Up

WHAT – Join Matthew Kalil, author of The Three Wells Of Screenwriting, and professional actor, Solomon Davis, for a powerful immersive writing experience like no other. Using techniques described in Matthew’s book, you will learn how to dig your “Memory Well” deeper and create characters and dialogue from an authentic place.

• Learn about your Three Wells of Creativity.
• Explore Fairfield and, using your senses, sit in a location and observe a character.
• “Bring” the character back into the workshop space and help Solomon embody the character.
• Write a dialogue sequence between two characters.

• At least one new character for your writing.
• A dialogue scene between two characters.
• A deep understanding of how to embody your characters so that they live and breathe in the real world of your story.
