Learn more about Fairfield Concert Association. \nFREE ADMISSION \nThe Southeast Iowa Band (SEIB) is a limited size 50-piece regional wind/percussion ensemble sponsored by Iowa Wesleyan University (IWU). We prepare a program with a variety of music—classical\, pops\, show tunes\, marches\, and folk music—presented in an entertaining fashion. \nThe band is an outlet for regional musicians seeking to maintain their skills at the highest level\, and for qualified IWU and high school performers. Most programs are put together in a series of 5 Sunday night rehearsals. \nMany of the SEIB members perform and teach professionally throughout the region. Much of the group includes adults who travel long distance because they are dedicated to performing in a band of the highest quality. \nThe SEIB is under the direction of Robert McConnell who first started working with the group in the fall of 1982 and Dr. Michael Knight on the music faculty of Iowa Wesleyan. The directors give the audience some dialogue and occasional musical demonstrations that enhance the program.

Learn more about Fairfield Concert Association. \n\n  \n\n“DAZZLING CELLO AND SOARING TENOR VOCALS” – NPR Music\n\n\n BRANDEN & JAMES bring the soulful timbre of James on his cello combined with Branden’s emotional and powerful vocals\, creating a sound that leaves audiences feeling moved and inspired. They have “become a brand-name in the classical-crossover music world alongside the likes of Josh Groban\, The Piano Guys\, and Jackie Evancho.” The Bay Area Reporter          \n“Hardly a supporting player\, but\, rather\, a true co-creator and co-star” (Robert Windeler\, NY Times Music Correspondent) Australian cellist James\, began creating arrangements of familiar tunes that make you listen as you’ve never heard them before. Branden\, a former finalist on America’s Got Talent & resident tenor at The Metropolitan Opera\, Lyric Opera of Chicago\, and Los Angeles Opera; recently penned a memoir entitled\, Lyrics of My Life which entered Amazon Books new releases at #9. It was published by Simon & Schuster in September\, 2020. \nPowerhouse vocalist Effie Passero rocketed to fame on the ABC reboot of popular talent show American Idol. Passero impressed both the judges and fans of the show\, most notably on her standout performance of ‘Barracuda’\, the classic track by rock group Heart with Judge Luke Bryan favourably comparing her vocals to Ann Wilson. Passero was an early favourite in the show and placed top 20\, and since then she has performed across the globe and has worked on various different studio projects including her debut album of original songs\, Better.

As a group\, they work together as brothers – each a wonderful soloist and an absolute marvel as a team player\, ready to be lyrical or hot\, bluesy\, rampaging\, or sentimental. Their exciting arrangements transform familiar tunes and showcase the top-notch vocal and beatboxing abilities of all of the members. They infuse heart and humor into every performance\, and their versatile repertoire\, including Top 40\, Motown\, classical\, show tunes\, original music\, and more\, ensures that there is something for everyone. \nBacktrack got their start on YouTube in 2013\, where the group has now amassed over 100k subscribers with a staggering 10 million views across their channel. Since then\, they have taken their music worldwide with national and international performances. Backtrack has appeared on NBC\, FOX\, PBS\, Steve Harvey’s daytime show STEVE!\, and Broadway’s Kinky Boots. They also won New York’s Got Talent Season 6 in 2019 and made their movie debut in “A Ring for Christmas” in December 2020. They were recently featured in an episode of HBO’s “PAUSE with Sam Jay” in July 2022.

Learn more about Fairfield Concert Association. \n\n  \nEmpire Wild is a genre-bending\, crossover trio featuring Ken Kubota\, Holly Bean\, and Mitch Lyon. Ken and Mitch bring all the cello has to offer – bowed\, plucked\, chopped and more. Holly can be found singing and pushing the piano into any style the group sets their mind on. \nThe three musicians channel their love for musical exploration into the trio – fusing the sounds of pop\, folk\, jazz and more into their songwriting and composition. Their debut EP ‘Paper Seasons’ features all original songs\, highlighting the trio’s unique sound and instrumentation. Based in NYC\, Empire Wild was selected as an Ambassador Prize winner in the 2020 Concert Artists Guild Victor Elmaleh Competition.
