Directed by Brian Staufenbiel\, the film celebrates Flicka the artist and humanitarian — featuring archival performance footage\, interviews with colleagues including Renée Fleming and Jake Heggie\, and an intimate look at her remarkable post-retirement life bringing music to underserved communities. \nThis screening is presented as a special preview event ahead of Flicka’s live performance at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center on Saturday\, September 26th\, when she returns to Fairfield for Our Children and Music\, a fundraiser concert for Maharishi School. DESCRIPTION:Presented by Maharishi School and not affiliated with the 2026-2027 Season – not included in Fairfield Arts & Convention Center package sale \n\nMaharishi School is proud to welcome back world-renowned mezzo-soprano Frederica (“Flicka”) von Stade to The Fairfield Arts & Convention Center. “Our Children and Music” is a program celebrating children as our future\, featuring compositions from Robert Schumann to Leonard Bernstein. Flicka will be performed alongside international concert pianist\, composer\, and conductor James Meredith. \nFlicka previously appeared at the Fairfield Arts & Convention Center in 2023 for a Maharishi School fundraiser.
